I am currently busy with a series of newt surveys for Ecosulis working with my new assistants. This is challenging work involving setting bottle traps in the water in the afternoon and retrieving them early next morning as well as visiting sites in the dark to survey with torches but so far everyone is coping well with the sleep deprivation and we have found smooth newts.
This is expected to run until the end of May when I will then jump immediately into spending June working on an ecological watching brief for another client for June, which may lead to yet more work carrying out a reptile and amphibian translocation project. In short it looks like I will be busy through the summer. I will keep this blog updated with what I’m up to.
