There are many situations where an ecologist needs to be on site in the run up to construction and during work. Creating new areas for protected species and moving them from the working area will need ecologists on site. An ecologist presence during clearing vegetation from a site at the start of work can provide evidence for clients and planning officers that any ecological planning conditions have been followed and rescue any animals that have managed to avoid being relocated before work.
An ecologist can also visit the site to confirm that habitat creation work is going as planned and to check the condition of any parts of the site that are being protected from construction work.
The Director of Levan Ecology, Matt Levan is experienced in working on development sites to carry out all these types of work and hold a Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card demonstrating training and experience in health and safety on site. The company itself is registered with Constructionline to ensure that all relevant standards for working on active construction sites are followed.
