Brackla was the site of one of Levan Ecology’s largest projects of 2016 and continued into 2017.
The site is a former industrial estate where Taylor Wimpey are building houses. Because the site is suitable for reptiles including slow worms Levan Ecology and subconsultants were involved for several months ensuring that these animals were protected and moved to a new home.
This process was completed in late 2016 but construction did not start until March 2017, when the remaining grass and other vegetation had to be cleared to bare ground. To deal with any residual ecological risks Levan Ecology hired Ecovigour to assist with this work, checking for birds nests and supervising the clearance of topsoil to rescue any animals that had hibernated within the site.
